...And we're back to labor after a nice refreshing time off. But we didn't rest on our laurels; we've been gearing up for the Fellowcraft Degree we're having this month.
We've got a packed month as our trestleboard shows. Meetings, rehearsals and community events, oh my!
There are some major business items we have to take care of during the months left in 2010 and they mainly revolve around the longevity of the Lodge. We'd apprecaite any and all input you have on the matter. Whether by snail-mail, e-mail, phone call or an actual visit to the Lodge; we'd be grateful.
We look forward to seeing you in Lodge and around the district!
Brothers,
As we return to labor from our summer refreshment, it’s time to buckle down and make some serious decisions. We’ve been discussing, for some time now, the status of the Lodge and where we’re going. Unfortunately, as our regular communication turnouts have been quite low, only a select few are able to give their input. This is a large responsibility for us to handle as only a dozen or so Brothers are tasked with making a decision that will effect our close-to-200 Brother membership.
Communication lines have been numerous and always open but rarely used. It is rather disappointing but is very useful insight into the overall mood of the members and how we should proceed. If we can’t convince the members to voice their opinions about such a major decision, how can we proceed to continue as a fully functioning lodge? There’s only so much that can be done by a skeleton crew.
But we, the self-named “skeleton crew”, will bear this responsibility and make the decision that is in the best interest of the entire membership. We hope that whatever decision we make, you understand that we didn’t come to this point lightly and that we would rather not had to come to this point at all. However, this was set in motion years ago and is finally coming to a head. It must be dealt with in all seriousness and urgency.
There’s still a chance for you to send us your thoughts on this matter but time is quickly running out. We hope to hear from you soon.
Best wishes to your and your families.
Fraternal Regards,
Adam M. Reich
Worshipful Master
